Returns and Refunds Policy

Bramwell Views — bramwellviews.co.uk

Last updated: 20 August 2026

This policy sits alongside your legal rights. Nothing in it reduces them.

1. Changing your mind

Your legal right — 14 days

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you receive the goods. You do not have to give a reason. Once you have told us, you have a further 14 days to send the goods back.

Our policy — 30 days

We extend that period to 30 days from delivery. The 30-day window is a contractual promise from us; the first 14 days are your statutory right. Both work the same way in practice.

How to cancel

Email contact@bramwellviews.co.uk with your order number. You can use the model cancellation form annexed to our Terms and Conditions of Sale, but you do not have to — any clear statement that you are cancelling is enough. We will acknowledge your cancellation by email.

Handling the goods

You may examine and handle the goods as you would in a shop. You may unpack the binoculars, look through them and try the rangefinder to check that they work.

If you handle the goods more than is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, we may deduct an amount from your refund to reflect the reduction in value. We will tell you the amount and the reason before we refund. We will not refuse a return on these grounds.

Keeping the original packaging makes a return much easier and reduces the risk of transit damage, for which you would be responsible on a change-of-mind return. It is not a condition of your right to cancel.

Who pays for the return

You pay the cost of returning the goods when you change your mind.

These are large, heavy, glass-fronted items that cannot be returned by ordinary post. You can arrange your own suitable carrier, or we can arrange collection and deduct the cost from your refund. As a guide, collection typically costs £60 to £150 depending on the model and your location; we will quote you the exact figure before booking anything.

If the goods are faulty, not as described, or damaged in transit, we pay — see section 2.

Your refund

We refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of the day you provide evidence that you have sent them, whichever is earlier.

We refund the price you paid plus the cost of standard outbound delivery. Where you chose a premium delivery service, we refund the standard rate rather than the premium. Refunds go to your original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may take a few additional days to show the credit.

2. Faulty, incorrect or damaged goods

Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015

  • Within 30 days of delivery — if the goods are faulty you may reject them and receive a full refund.
  • After 30 days — you are entitled to a repair or replacement. If a repair or replacement fails or is not possible, you may claim a price reduction or reject the goods.
  • Up to six years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, or five years in Scotland — you may claim for a fault that was present at the time of delivery.

Damage in transit

Please inspect the outer packaging before you sign for the delivery. If it is visibly damaged, note this with the driver and photograph it before unpacking.

Report any transit damage to us within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs. We will arrange a replacement or a full refund and we cover all collection costs.

How to report a fault

Email contact@bramwellviews.co.uk with your order number, a description of the problem, and photographs or a short video where the fault is visible. Photographs let us resolve most claims without an inspection visit. We reply within 24 to 48 hours.

We arrange and pay for collection of faulty goods. You do not need to pay anything and you do not need to have kept the packaging.

3. Our 2-year warranty

Separately from your legal rights, we warrant the goods for 2 years from delivery against defects in materials and workmanship in normal domestic use.

The warranty excludes damage from misuse, incorrect installation, unauthorised repair or modification, accident, and normal wear to consumable parts. It does not limit or replace your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

4. Where to send returns

Do not send anything back before contacting us — we need to book the collection and give you a reference. Once agreed, returns go to:

Bramwell Views (AKYT LTD)

71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden

London WC2H 9JQ

United Kingdom

5. Sale items

Items bought in a sale or with a discount code carry exactly the same return and refund rights as full-price items.

6. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled a return, email contact@bramwellviews.co.uk. We acknowledge complaints within 24 to 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 14 days. We do not currently subscribe to an alternative dispute resolution scheme; if we cannot resolve matters between us, you may take the matter to court. For independent advice, contact Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or at citizensadvice.org.uk.
